Last week I heard Kim Peterson of Uniquely Savvy share an inspirational message on hope. Her message was more than a feel-good, hope-for-hope kind of message; she insisted on hope.
WHERE IN LIFE HAVE YOU INSISTED?
Where have you stood firm? Where were you determined? Persistent? Emphatic and wouldn’t take no for an answer?
Kim reminded us to “insist on hope.” Don’t just wish for it and hope for the best. Insist on it!
I’ve become a passionate advocate for words of loving kindness, God’s loving kindness that was our saving grace. W-O-L-K. Words of loving kindness. Walk the WOLK, I like to say.
WE’RE GOING TO NEED TO BE INSISTENT.
And to that, I add a note of realism: we’re going to need to be insistent in our journey together. When the conversation goes sideways, when the day falls apart, when the relationship disappoints, frustrates, angers, we’ll need to insist on a word of loving kindness, a moment of loving kindness, because there will be times when we just want to bite back, when our hearts will shrink, when we won’t feel loving, we won’t feel kind and our words and deeds will suffer for it.
Insist on love. Insist on kindness. Insist on loving kindness.
We’re in this together, friends! Together we can be transforming examples of God’s saving grace. Together our words of loving kindness can inspire, motivate, and bring about meaningful change.
