Speaking

My speaking schedule includes Sunday morning messages, weekend workshops, luncheon keynotes, and evening guest appearances.

Topics include

    • Telling Our Stories: Life’s Deep Gladness
    • Signs in Life: Uniquely His!
    • Gifts: Not Imagined, Not Expected, Perfect
    • Walking the WOLK: Words of Loving Kindness for Inspiration, Motivation, and Meaningful Change

I love empowering and encouraging women knowing that God’s been in the details ~ always has been, always will be.

I speak with larger and smaller groups. I share antics and vulnerabilities. We giggle and we groan, but it’s not all about me. Together we honor our place in God’s great story. Together we celebrate real life, real connections, real faith.

Let’s get together for a women’s retreat! Our theme? SIGNS IN LIFE. Traffic signs will guide us.

    • We’ll ENTER our place in God’s great story. We’re all uniquely called.
    • We’ll GO as God’s people. We’re all uniquely equipped.
    • We’ll TURN RIGHT and talk about life’s unique challenges.
    • I’ll share a few TRAVEL ADVISORIES, remembering we’re all uniquely sent.
    • And then we’ll EXIT, remembering every single one of us is uniquely His ~ uniquely God’s!

In addition we’ll get to know each other better with wonderful mixers, thoughtful discussions, and an eye-opening journey.

Let’s get together.

I love helping women of faith connect our delightfully ordinary stories to God’s extraordinary love and faithfulness, so we can be encouraged and empowered knowing God’s been in the details ~ always has been, always will be.

My speaking engagements include both workshops and special messages along with bigger, more candid conversations about how we can engage with our communities, how we can be leaders of faith, how we can change the discourse, change the dialog, change the tone of our discussions. I want to help us women of faith sow seeds of hope in fields of challenge, challenges we never expected, never imagined.

About Deanna

Before my father died, he reminded me that Mom had asked me to write a book. At the time the boys were in college, and the notion of writing was unfathomable. Writers write books. By the time my boys were adults, I’d run out of excuses. I was also at that age when I could pause and reflect.

Fruit of My Spirit: Reframing Life in God’s Grace was my first publishing endeavor. My second was Signs in Life: Finding Direction in Our Travels with God. Both are collections of stories that tell of God’s love and faithfulness. Both tell of His remarkable grace and mercy.

A Cautionary Tale about the Timing of Our Words

A Cautionary Tale about the Timing of Our Words

I’ve learned that timing’s very, very important—whether I’m at the dentist or scrolling my newsfeed. Social media has given us wonderful opportunities to connect as God’s people. Social media can also highlight differences, promote divisions. This episode of “Morning WOLK with God” is a cautionary tale about our words and the timing of our words. Yes, there is a time for everything.

Letting God Be God

Letting God Be God

Are you able to let God be God? Too often I refuse to let God be God. Too often I discount God’s will, His way, and His when, thinking I know best. Stuck in traffic last week, I told myself that I was just using God’s openings–those gaps between cars–to make up time, to speed ahead–but it wasn’t true. I thought I knew best.

Again–those delightful driving antics that connect to bigger, more important lessons in life!

God’s Loving Kindness in Life’s Pinched Fingers and Lost Key Moments

God’s Loving Kindness in Life’s Pinched Fingers and Lost Key Moments

Yes, some days go sideways. Some of our best intentions fall short. But God never fails to reach in with His love and kindness in the smallest moments and also the bigger ones, the harder ones, the ones that pinch. There will be days when we hear “It happens” from the backseat. There will be days when we’re given an unexpected bouquet of lemon balm. And then there will be days when we’re can say it and we can share it.
