Last week I had the joy and honor of speaking to a women’s group. We talked about how women of faith can have a meaningful impact on those people and places that mean the most to them. We talked about how to be a light in dark places, how to plant seeds of love, joy, peace, and hope in the fields of challenge that surround us.
Days later my son asked me about the event. I paused and said, “Kyle, I don’t know how to talk about it. It was such a God thing.” Kyle replied, “It’s OK, Mom. You’re with family. You can humble brag.”
But I’m not sure that’s true. I’m not sure I can humble brag. My writing life has evolved into a speaking life and God has continued to be there in every way, directing when I watch for His will and His way, redirecting when I insist on my will and my way. My humble brag? That He can use my stumbles to His glory!
It’s true of all our stumbles. He’s there for us all. He’s there with His light and His seeds of love, joy, peace, and hope. And for that, I remain truly grateful!
