Hi! I’m Deanna Nowadnick. I’m an inspirational writer and motivational speaker who loves helping women of faith connect our delightfully ordinary stories to God’s extraordinary love and faithfulness, so that we can be encouraged and empowered, knowing God’s been in the details—always has been, always will be!
On Wednesday, January 11th at 7:00p I’ll be at Advent Lutheran in Mill Creek visiting with a special group called “Beyond the Book.” Yep, we’re going to take time to go beyond the book and talk about our walk with God, focusing on those times not imagined, not expected.
Personally, I’m excited to start my speaking year with the women of Advent. As you know, Advent means the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event and lest there be any misunderstanding: it’s not my arrival that we’re commemorating, but the arrival of our Lord and Savior.
Advent is so often sandwiched between Thanksgiving and Christmas. By January, we put Advent in the past tense. Just hearing the name of your church reminds us that Advent is not a thing of the past, but something here and now–right now. This time of preparation, this time of celebration transcends a single month.
So let’s get together. Let’s talk about God’s message for this new year. And let’s take a moment or two to talk about some special gifts. Not only was Mary called to a life not imagined, not expected, but we all are. Truly exciting! See you soon!
