Kurt's Flowers

Beautiful Flowers in Wonderful Bouquets

I’m a writer and speaker who’s become a passionate advocate for words of loving kindness. “Walk the WOLK,” I like to say. Walk the words of loving kindness.

Say It with Flowers

I love filming short inspirational videos. One was called, “Say it with flowers.” Took me forever! Some 13 tries. When I finally finished, I looked at my hair and makeup and cringed. Not a good day for either.

I know. I know. The inspirational writer and motivational speaker was worried about her hair and makeup—again missing the bigger, more important message in life.

A Gift of Flowers

And there was an even bigger message to share. Last week I spoke about a bouquet of flowers that Kurt had given me. They started off not faring well, drooping after only a day, but I refused to give up on them. Two days later I walked into my office to see four of the six flowers standing tall in the vase. They were beautiful! Had I given up and tossed the arrangement, I’d have missed days of beauty.

Finding God in the Flowers

God doesn’t give up on us either. When we droop under the weight of our day, the never-ending list of to-do’s, the wants and should’s and “wish I could’s,” God is there.

God’s in our unexpected moments of quiet. He’s there in the much appreciated kind words, the much needed help. He’s always there.

Even when the flowers were drooping, I continued to water them.

When life finds you drooping, continue to water your spirit.

  • Surround yourself with those who encourage you, who empower you.
  • Say a prayer of gratitude—even when you don’t feel grateful.
  • Open the Bible—even when you don’t have the time, the motivation, the inclination.

Don’t give up on yourself; God’s doesn’t. He sees the beauty in you. He treasures the beauty that is in you.

The Wonderful Bouquets around Us

Enjoy the wonderful bouquets of flowers about you. Stand tall in your vase. You’re beautiful!
