The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out.
Proverbs 8:15
Hi! I’m Deanna Nowadnick. I’m a writer and a speaker. I love helping women of faith connect our delightfully ordinary stories to God’s extraordinary love and faithfulness, so we can be encouraged and empowered knowing God’s been in the details–always has been, always will be.
I’m also a contributor at Fave Lifestyles. Earlier this week Fave’s founder, my friend and colleague Karen Rae shared a blog post about change.
Change is hard.
Change moves us out of our comfort zone, and I don’t like getting out of my comfort zone.
I’m working on my third book. By the time I get words on the page, I pretty darn attached to them. My editor not so much!
My editor will strike a sentence and I get frustrated. She’ll ask that I redo a paragraph and I’ll feel bad. She’ll ask for another round of edits on the chapter and I’ll slump. You name the emotion, I’ve been there.
Out of change comes growth.
Karen finished her blog reminding us about growth.
I make the edits and my writing gets better and better and better. So much better that’s it excruciating to go back and look at the original draft.
We can all be changemakers.
Yes, individually and together.
In the middle of a pandemic.
In the middle of important discussions about race.
In the middle of an important election cycle.
And together we’ll grow!
Deanna is the author of two books, Fruit of My Spirit and Signs in Life.
